Kingsport Idol seeks next singing sensation

Auditions will be held May 5 for contestants ages 18 to 24; May 7 for ages 8 to 13; May 12 for ages 25 and older; and May 14 for ages 14 to 17. All auditions begin at 6 p.m. in the Kingsport Renaissance Center.

Thursday's "Kids Race" at Kingsport Speedway was scheduled to be a quick sprint from the end of turn four to the finish line, but the top three finishers continued on to settle their own personal contest with track officials in hot pursuit.
