Appalachian region the focus of 2013 ‘A Civil War Evening’

Stephen Dean, creator of “The Heartland Series” will be the guest speaker during “A Civil War Evening.” This year’s event is set for 6:30 to 9 p.m., July 15 at the Kingsport Renaissance Center auditorium.

Fun Fest events focus on Kingsport’s past

Two new Fun Fest events are scheduled this year to educate participants about Kingsport’s past. A scavenger hunt and a self-guided historical tour, “Take a Walk Through Time,” can both be done at your leisure throughout the nine-day festival.
