Five in area win National Merit Scholarships

KINGSPORT — Five Northeast Tennessee high school graduates, including two from Kingsport, have won National Merit Scholarships, according to an announcement from the Illinois-based National Merit Scholarship Corp.

Due to scheduling conflicts and to allow Kingsport City Schools and the Sullivan County Department of Education an opportunity to finalize budgets, the Innovation Academy Governing Board meeting originally scheduled for May 28 has been postponed.
