D-B student scores perfect 36 on ACT

KINGSPORT — Although a local high school student says she struggles a bit with math, she did well enough to get a rare perfect ACT score and so far has aced the advanced math curriculum at her school with straight A’s.

KINGSPORT — Kingsport’s Roosevelt Elementary is among the winning schools. “Kingsport City Schools has received $13,850 to be used at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School” for 2013-14, said Jennifer Burleson, director of school nutrition services.

KINGSPORT — Water damaged some area schools in Kingsport and the western end of Sullivan County last week, while lightning damaged schools in several parts of the county. Saint Dominic Catholic School on Center Street sustained extensive water damage.
