WISE — The classes prepare adults to pass the GED (general educational development) test and compete in the work place. They are free of charge to adults who are at least 18 and not enrolled in public school.

KINGSPORT — About 800 fourth-graders got up close and personal with animal skeletons and skins, live animals, bugs and recycling this week. The conservation camp at Warriors Path exposed students to conservation-themed presentations.

BLOUNTVILLE — Sullivan South’s composite ACT score for its 2013 graduating class has bested Dobyns-Bennett and Science Hill. South is among the top-scoring schools in Tennessee and is the highest-scoring high school on the ACT in Northeast Tennessee.
