Linda Kimbro has received many gifts and accolades since announcing her retirement from Hawkins County Schools earlier this year, but the one gift she brought to show the Board of Education Tuesday was a can of sardines.

The BOE agreed to apply for a waiver of three instructional days which is being offered by the Tennessee Department of Education due to the high number of snow days incurred statewide.
