Jeff Perry will become the superintendent of schools in Wythe County effective July 1. His tenure as Wise County Schools Superintendent included maelstrom over consolidation, with the final two years clearing to calmer seas.

Dr. Jeff Perry is the choice to take up the superintendent's post for Wythe County Public Schools. The Wise County School Board on Thursday issued a notice for a special called meeting next week to begin its own search process for a new superintendent.

Volunteer Choir puts new twist on old 'Gospel Mass' - VIDEO

On Thursday the VHS Choir performs the same "Gospel Mass" that Catholic popes have enjoyed for centuries, although it's unlikely that Pope Innocent VI heard his mass accompanied by drums, piano, and an electric bass laying down a funky beat.
