BOE president urges citizens to 'SPEAK UP' in support of revenue enhancements

On Thursday, Board of Education President Carrie Upshaw released an open letter to the community urging residents to let the Board of Mayor and Aldermen know that support for a property tax increase and other revenue enhancements exists.

D-B Principal Chris Hampton said the draft proposal, still being reviewed by the activities committee, proposes to raise the season ticket price in the lower grandstand area of the existing stadium from $35 for five home games to $40.

Kingsport report cards may not include TCAP scores

The TCAP scores, which by Kingsport Board of Education policy are supposed to account for 20 percent of the second semester grade in reading/language arts, math, science and social studies, were supposed to be released already.
