For the third consecutive year Hawkins County's McPheeters Bend Elementary School has been recognized for being among the top schools in the state for student academic growth.

KCS school nurse visits down by design

Giving teachers bandages and crackers to dispense instead of sending students to a school nurse for that purpose has helped decrease the number of school nurse visits this school year by almost 14,000.
