Woman sentenced for false assault report

A Church Hill woman who admittedly lied to police about being assaulted by her boyfriend last month was sentenced Monday in Hawkins County Sessions Court to probation and community service.

Jason Holt killed Down Home Pharmacy owner Stephen Lovell despite Lovell complying with Holt's request for oxycodone. A cutomer was also killed in the May 2013 robbery in Bean Station, where Holt had once worked as an officer.

A Kingsport resident has been arrested after allegedly making multiple, non-emergency calls to 911, then threatening to kill a dispatcher for what he perceived as a failure to meet his concerns.
