Rafael Diaz Saldana, 18, 101 Engineer Lane, Erwin, was arrested Monday evening and charged with false reporting, making death threats to a school employee and harassment.

In his attempt to get away, authorities say Brian Hawkins crossed the double yellow lines several different times, into oncoming traffic. Hawkins then pulled onto Lynn Road and allegedly refused to pull over for the officer.

Anthony Eugene Goad, 46, 2421 Clearview Dr., Johnson City, died outside his vehicle at Blakemore Circle and Mayfield Drive after police pursued him following the robbery at Val-U-Pharmacy on West Market Street.
