Opening statements expected in armory shooting trial

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Lawyers are expected to make opening statements in the trial of a Tennessee National Guard recruiter charged with attempting to kill four of his superiors in a shooting inside an armory north of Memphis.

According to the Kingsport Police Department, Vincent H. Dennis, Rogersville, walked into the Walgreens on West Stone Drive around 10:30 p.m. on Oct 29, 2013, requested a pen and paper from an employee and scribbled a note demanding drugs.

CHURCH HILL - The boyfriend of an infant's guardian was arrested last week and accused of breaking arms, legs and ribs of a child who was less than six months old, along with biting the baby.
