Kingsport man pleads guilty to counterfeiting

Jordan Johnson, 20, of Kingsport, appeared in U.S. District Court in Greeneville Tuesday morning for a change of plea hearing. Judge Leon Jordan accepted the guilty plea and scheduled a sentencing hearing for Aug. 19.

The state Supreme Court has agreed to hear an appeal by a woman who tried to heal her daughter's cancer through prayer. Court records state the cancer caused a grapefruit-sized tumor on the girl's shoulder that appeared to cause her severe pain.
