Ex-Coeburn town manager must serve 8 months, pay $25K for embezzlement

Former Coeburn Town Manager Loretta Mays was sentenced Thursday to serve eight months of a 15-year prison sentence as well as pay restitution of nearly $25,000 for embezzling funds from a town recreational facility.

The lengthy pursuit began in Washington County, Va., with speeds eventually exceeding 100 mph and police vehicles rammed. The Sullivan County Sheriff's Office's sole role in the incident was preserving the scene of the shooting.

Man sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison for Greeneville carjacking

Dustin Watson, 31, of Knoxville, received the 115-month prison sentence on Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Greeneville. Watson, who pleaded guilty to carjacking in February, will also be on probation for three years following the prison stint.
