Hawkins man charged with assault against his 89-year-old mom

An 89-year-old Church Hill woman told police Friday night that her son frequently assaults her, refuses to feed her, locks her out of the home, and takes her pain medication.

Hawkins County deputies are still investigating a residential fire that occurred last week when a woman reportedly set her son's girlfriend's clothes on fire on the porch of her own home, resulting in a total loss of the residence.
