Bluff City man sentenced to eight years for armed robbery

GREENEVILLE — A Bluff City man will spend the next eight years in federal prison for the December armed robbery of a Bristol, Tenn., Check Into Cash. Geoff Billips received a 104-month prison term during a sentencing hearing in U.S. District Court.

ROGERSVILLE — As of Wednesday evening, James Rolly Ingram, 36, 1631 E. Main St., Apt. 119, Rogersville, remained held in the Hawkins County jail on $30,000 bond. He will appear again before Sessions Judge J. Todd Ross on Sept. 9 for a preliminary hearing.

ROGERSVILLE — Joshua Lynn Hinkle, 23, 131 Dogwood Lane, Lot 5, Whitesburg, pleaded guilty Monday in Hawkins County Sessions Court to a host of drug charges. Hinkle was sentenced to 11 months and 29 days of supervised probation and fined $2,010.

ROGERSVILLE — A Bulls Gap man accused of injuring his 5-year-old stepdaughter while disciplining her for playing with his iPod was indicted Monday by a Hawkins County grand jury. Travis Brian Hull, 23, 485 Ridge Road, is scheduled for arraignment Friday.
