KPD: Ball-peen hammer attack spurs attempted murder charge

KINGSPORT — An ongoing dispute between a pair of Kingsport men allegedly turned bloody on Thursday, when one of the men met with the other under the pretense of burying the hatchet, but instead attacked him with a ball-peen hammer.

The Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a break-in at the Bulls Gap Veterans of Foreign Wars club in which a large quantity of ammunition, turkeys, hams and assorted breakfast meats were taken.
