Rogersville woman receives sweepstakes scam over Facebook

ROGERSVILLE — Kathy Ward of Rogersville told the Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office that on Sunday morning she had received a message on Facebook from someone using the name “Banky Rharo Jr.” stating that she was the winner of $200,000.

GREENEVILLE — A Kingsport man who shot his wife’s ex-husband to death in the Stanley Valley community in 2012 and then set the victim’s home on fire was sentenced Monday to 29 years in prison with no chance for parole.
