Kingsport woman sentenced in gravel conspiracy

Evelyn Jean Vickers received a 110-month prison sentence in U.S. District Court in Greeneville on Tuesday. Vickers and 10 others were indicted in June 2014 in connection with an extensive a-PVP distribution ring centered in and around Sullivan County.

In responding to an animal complaint in Church Hill, a woman told police that a neighbor had shot one of her cats with a BB gun. Then, to demonstrate for the irate woman that it wouldn't kill the cat, he placed the barrel to his head.
