SURGOINSVILLE — The former Surgoinsville Ruritan Club building has a new roof and is almost ready to be used as a municipal community center and senior center.

BEAN STATION — Currently, the campus is licensed by DCS to house 40 children, and has switched its focus from serving alternative school students back to the original mission of reaching out to neglected children.

New things are happening at Hunger First — a new director, a donated freezer and a partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank — but donations have almost dried up. Each month they feed around 500 to 600 people, no questions asked.
