Hawkins commissioners want tree on courthouse lawn to be cut

ROGERSVILLE — Hawkins County commissioners said Tuesday they want a pine tree located on the front lawn of the historic Hawkins County Courthouse cut down because it obstructs the public’s view from Main Street of the newly renovated facility.

'Buckets for Babies' collecting donations to send to children affected by tornadoes

One local organization is collecting donations to help send to the children affected by tornadoes in Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas. The program is being called “Buckets for Babies” and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief is spearheading the effort.
