For years, the monetary awards handed out at the Kingsport Art Guild’s annual Appalachian Art Show were funded by an anonymous benefactor. When that benefactor died a few months ago, she left one final gift behind.

The theater in Building 89 at Eastman was actually a multipurpose room: movie theater, gymnasium, roller rink and auditorium. It was right next to the offices of the Tennessee Eastman Recreation Club (commonly known as TERC).
