Love propelled the Blountville Elementary School fifth-grader to host a drive to gather supplies, food and blankets for dogs and cats at the SBK Animal Shelter. She managed to gather quite a bit of supplies in only a couple of weeks.

For more than five years, Tammy Darnell was by her mother's side as she battled Alzheimer's. Darnell, a Kingsport native, was the primary caregiver and says she had no idea what to expect as the disease progressed.
