Curtis J. aJima Davis, Jr., 74, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday (Nov. 4, 2008) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Vergie Dorton Davis; first wife, Patricia Robinson Davis. Born in Castlewood, Va., Jim had been a resident of Kingsport for most of his life. He was retired from Holston Defense, where he worked as an electrician. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church but had faithfully attended Bloomingdale Baptist Church for several years. He is survived by his wife, Mable Ragle Davis, Kingsport; son, Bobby Davis, Kingsport; step-daugh - ter, Debra Casey and husband, Dennis Belcher, Maryville; step-son, Tim Casey and wife, Beth, Kingsport; granddaughter, Hannah Davis; step-grandchildren, David Austin, Rebekah Austin, Rachel Mott, Shanna Myers and Casey Myers; sister, Catherine Carrier, Bristol, Va.; several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Bloomingdale Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. at the church with Pastor Joe W. Byrd and the Rev. Phil Whittemore officiating. Music will be provided by the Bloomingdale Baptist Church C h o i r. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Va. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:55 a.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Garland Fields, David Baker, Gary Baker, Curtis Riner, Caryle Byington, Jerry Murrell, Jim Leach and David Austin.
