PENNINGTON GAP, Va. Ralph Peters of Pennington Gap, Va., was born in Middlesboro, Ky. on Monday, Dec. 26, 1927 and passed away Sunday (Nov. 2, 2008) at the Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Va. at the age of 80 years. He had been a lifelong resident of Lee County and retired as owner and operator of Peters Battery and Radiator Service in Pennington Gap. Ralph served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Dryden Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Walter and Ruby Thacker Peters; one brother, Paul Peters; and father and mother-in-law, Dan and Edith Ewing. Ralph is survived by his wife, Deloris Ewing Peters of 60 years; of the home; one son, William David Peters and wife, Sue Southern Peters, of Richlands, Va.; three grandchildren, William Chadwick Peters and wife, Melissa, David Eric and Rachel Sewell Peters; and his twin great-grandchildren, Ava Meredith and Jena Southern Peters. Ralph is also survived by two brothers, Clarence Peters and wife, Lucile, of Pennington Gap, Va. and Randall Peters of Galveston, Tex.; two sisters, Opal Ely and husband, Willard of Middlesboro, Ky. and Deloris Berry and husband, Ronald, of Eden, N.C. and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service on Wednesday at Province Funeral Home, Pennington Gap, Va. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday in the funeral home sanctuary with Douglas Bridges and Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Lee Memorial Gardens in Woodway, Va . In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dryden Missionary Baptist Church, P.O.
