Gregg Laughlin, KINGSPORT

KINGSPORT Gregg Laughlin, 65, of Kingsport, joined his Savior in Heaven on Nov. 2, 2008. He was a friend to all who knew him. Mr. Laughlin was born Jan. 10, 1943 and was a son of the late, John and Mildred Laughlin. Born in Sullivan County, he resided in Kingsport his entire life. He graduated from Ketron High School where he was a standout athlete. Gregg retired from Eastman after 37 years of service. He was a member of West View Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school director for many years. Gregg was active as a coach for numerous area youth baseball teams where he was a positive influence to many young athletes. He was very proud of each and every player he coached and could remember them all indiv i d u a l l y. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Gabriel Johnson Laughlin. He will be greatly missed here on earth by his wife of 47 years, Eileen Laughlin; sons, Terry Laughlin and his wife, Sandy, Tim Laughlin, Scott Laughlin and his wife, Laura and Chris Laughlin; grandchildren, Hilliary Laughlin, Peyton Laughlin, Greg Laughlin, Abbey Grace Laughlin and Logan Laughlin, all of Kingsport; sisters, Cathy Barrett and her husband, Wayne of Burtonsville, Md., Angie Presnell and her husband, Jerry of Kingsport; mother-in-law, Dorothea Porter; special cousin, Jerry aJuga Renfro; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at West View Baptist Church 1037 Fairview Ave., Kingsport. Services will follow visitation with Pastor Mike Stout and Pastor Travis Pierson officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in East Lawn Memorial Park where family and friends are asked to assemble by 10:45 graveside.
