DANTE, Va. Nannie Ruth Fields, 83, died Monday (Nov. 3, 2008) at Russell County Medical Center, Lebanon, Va. She was born in Nickelsville, Va., and was the daughter of the late McCoy and Maggie Hawkins Robinson Maxfield. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Fields; one sister, Betty Greer; and two brothers, Harold Robinson and Robert aBoozera Robinson. She is survived by four daughters, Wanda aFroga Osborne and husband, Larry of Dante, Va., Debra aButcha Jordan of Castlewood, Va., Teresa aTinya Mays and husband, Ronald of Castlewood, Va., and Rita Bradley and husband, Bill of Castlewood, Va.; two sons, Larry aSnakea Fields of Dante, Va. and Tim aBeavera Fields and special friend, Nancy Honaker of Gray; four sisters, Doris Hall and Glenna Jones, both of Dante, Va., Judy Porter and husband, Harold of Castlewood, Va., and Joyce Greer of Castlewood, Va.; one brother, Eugene Maxfield and wife, Diane of Castlewood, Va.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. D.J. Couch and the Rev. Troy Harris officiating. Committal services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Va. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. We d n e s d a y. Pallbearers will be Matthew Hamilton, Kenneth Smallwood, Mark Linthicum, E.W. Hall, Wade Holbrook, Jim Smith and Jeff Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jock Fields, Alex Fields, Dennis Fields, Matthew Fields, Rick Neece and Joe Jordan.
