Season of Giving: Spreading Christmas Cheer

Submitted by Mary Ann Davis and Angelia Hensley • Dec 25, 2018 at 10:30 AM
St. Clair principal Mary Ann Davis teamed up with Bulls Gap Fire Department Station 2 to ride through the community of St. Clair with Santa again this year. As children heard the sirens, they would run out to meet Santa and Principal Davis. Santa stopped and talked to each one of them. They were able to visit with Santa, take photos and share their Christmas wish lists. In addition to the annual Santa Run, St. Clair School also held a coat drive. Thirty-two coats were donated during the event. The coats are being distributed to students in need.

Eighth-grade students at Surgoinsville Middle School participated in a "Season of Giving" by making homemade Christmas cards for the 120 residents of the Church Hill Health Care Center. Dressed in their pajamas to celebrate Christmas Spirit Week, students got creative with paper, glue, stickers, wrapping paper, ribbons and cotton balls to help spread Christmas cheer. This activity was originally planned for the week the area was covered in a blanket of snow and school was not in session. But these students were willing to come in early to school and complete the cards on time.

The eighth-grade class of Surgoinsville Middle School wishes everyone a Merry Christmas!
