The first 100 people to snap and tag (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) a selfie at each of the 10 locations will receive a free Kingsport Centennial shirt. Just bring your phone to the Kingsport Chamber to pick up your shirt (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Visit http://visitkingsport.com/kingsport-selfie-trail/.
The promotion launched by Visit Kingsport last week and as of Tuesday, only 10 people had completed the task and shown up at the Chamber to collect their shirts.
The Kingsport Selfie Trail concept was developed as a community project by four members of Leadership Kingsport's Class of 2017: Jenny Kontos, Jason Phillips, Scott Pierce and Janessa Sokol.
There are 10 primary locations on the Selfie Trail: Allandale Mansion; Bays Mountain Dam; the Kingsport Carousel; Centennial Park; Exchange Place; the Greenbelt along Netherland Inn Road; the Kingsport 100 sign in front of the Chamber; Netherland Inn Museum; and the Kingsport Veterans Memorial. And 11th optional location is the top of the Bays Mountain Fire Tower, which Visit Kingsport's website notes is a strenuous hike requiring a minimum of two hours to complete.
