KINGSPORT – Eastman Credit Union broke ground Wednesday for a new Allandale branch at the corner of West Stone Drive and Netherland Inn Road in the West Park development.

The full service branch, ECU’s 26th, will have access to both Stone Drive and Netherland Inn Road, and add 10 jobs to the Kingsport area economy.

“The Mount Carmel branch has always been one of our busiest branches, and we’re glad to add this convenient location for both Kingsport and Hawkins County residents,” ECU President and CEO Olan Jones, Jr. said of the new branch, expected to open by January 2019. “Members have told us they have a need … this will make three branches in Hawkins County. We’ve grown here in a significant way over the last eight to 10 years … we’ve added 500 jobs to the greater Kingsport area alone over the past 10 years. Ultimately, we do it for service but our growth has created a lot of new jobs … the one thing that has stayed the same is we care about our members.”

The branch will have offer deposit accounts, consumer lending and mortgage lending services. It will also include a night depository, drive-thru tellers, a drive-thru ATM and safe deposit boxes.
