BLOUNTVILLE - Participants in the annual Blountville Ruritan Independence Day Parade included everything you'd expect: Scouts; honor guards; floats, beauty queens; twirlers; a marching band; decorated tractors; antique cars; fire trucks; and horses - all with a patriotic theme. The parade began at 2 p.m. on the upper end of the Blountville Historic District and made its way down The Great Stage Road past the historic Sullivan County Courthouse, ending at Highway 394.
