The Optimist Club of Colonial Heights hosted the annual Fun Fest Kid's Fishing Derby on Saturday, July 12, at Warriors' Path State Park. A special thanks to the Sullivan County Sheriff's Auxiliary for offering finger-printing services for the children, the TWRA for the donation of fishing rods and reels for the drawing, and to the Sullivan South High School JROTC cadets who assisted with this event.
More than 116 youth from ages 4 through 16 registered for this year's derby. Every child present received a prize and derby category winners took home trophies.
