The Tennessee Senior Olympics were held June 20-26 in Franklin, Tenn.
More than 1,800 senior athletes ages 50 and older participated in the Senior Olympics.
The Tri-Cities was well-represented with several local athletes bringing home hardware from the event.
Barbara Bogart of Elizabethton won a gold medal in the triple jump.
The Tennessee Volleys 70-74 age volleyball team won the gold medal over the Cookeville Tennessee Chicks. The team includes (from left) Joyce Manis, Joyce Curtis, Sondra Tornga, Sandra Byington, Carol Hicks and Catherine Crooke.
Dan Ball of Kingsport won a gold medal in shuffleboard singles and a bronze medal in horseshoes.
Keeping it all in the family, Gladys Haynes won a bronze medal in horseshoes, while her brother Charles Gray and their sister, Joyce Manis, both won gold medals in horseshoes. In addition, Charles' wife, Anna, also won a silver medal in horseshoes.
Joan Wilder and her daughter, Tammy Carter, won a gold medal in shuffleboard doubles. Tammy also won a gold medal in the shuffleboard singles, while Joan won the bronze medal in shuffleboard singles and a silver medal in horseshoes.
