Kingsport City Schools is holding its first KCS Summer STREAM Camp from Monday through Friday for rising fourth through eighth graders in the city system at Robinson Middle School.
STREAM stands for science, technology, reading, engineering, arts and math. It uses project-based learning in chemistry, digital media, engineering, the environment and the arts.
Although a system wide STREAM program for 2014-15 was scrapped because of budget issues, campers this week through searching for solutions and discovering new learning through exploration are designing their own creations, learning about STEM careers and showcasing their learning through a digital portfolio.
