The name of the business is Two Dad's Cafe and Catering. But it's more than just two dads. It's two families behind two dads. Chuck King and Randy Slagle have been friends a long time, and the two dads began catering family and church parties — a daughter's birthday, a wife's birthday, and so on. Between them, they have six children. And it was the offspring who suggested the Two Dads name once the hobby became a business about four years ago.
This week, King and Slagle - surrounded by family, friends, loyal customers and city officials - cut the ribbon for their new, much larger location directly on Five Points at the corner of Sullivan and Charlemont Streets. The two dads are quick to credit faith, family and forethought with their success.
Their specialty: homestyle cooking at breakfast, lunch and, on some evenings, dinner. "We want you to feel like you've come to grandma's house," Slagle said of both the menu and decor.
