COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTOR • Feb 21, 2018 at 11:14 AM

ROGERSVILLE — While many people were busy making plans to spend some time with their loved ones celebrating Valentine’s Day, the 2017-18 Leadership Hawkins Class was traveling to Nashville.

Here in our State’s Capital, they would become better equipped for the growth and prosperity of Hawkins County.

Meeting with our Representative to Tennessee’s General Assembly – Gary Hicks, they were treated as esteemed guests and given a peek into the functioning of the 110th General Assembly.

Representative Hicks was patient in answering every question posed to him by the Leadership Hawkins Class, revealing his deep concern for the well-being of the citizens of his district.

While he not only maintained his exhausting schedule of work for our community, he still made time to spend with the leadership students ensuring a worthwhile and beneficial trip. With a quick visit by our Governor Bill Haslam and our Tennessee State Senator Frank Niceley, it was a well-rounded trip.
