Johnson 50th anniversary
Jerry Scott and Janet (Neubert) Johnson of Kingsport, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family and close friends Nov. 2, 2013.
The event is being hosted by their children.
The couple was married Nov. 2, 1963, at First Baptist Church, Elizabethton.
They are the parents of Ron Johnson and wife Lisa of Dalton, Ga.; Alan Johnson and wife Jodi of Memphis, Tenn.; and Teresa Hester and husband Eric of Cohutta, Ga. They are the grandparents of Lily, Porter, Emma and Gabe Johnson, and Lindy Hester.
Mr. Johnson retired from Eastman Chemical Co. Mrs. Johnson retired from Holston Valley Broadcasting.
Ramey 102nd birthday
Nannie Ramey celebrated her 102nd birthday on Oct. 18, 2013, with her family at Cracker Barrel.
She was born Oct. 18, 1911. Her parents were the late Oscar and Margaret Blevins of Dungannon, Va.
She is the mother of four children, the late Rev. Hershel E. Ramey and wife Betty of Nickelsville, Va.; Lottie Smith of Kingsport; Peggy Rutter and husband Robert of Bristol, Va., and Nancy Horne and husband David of Kingsport.
She has five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Malone and Coleman
Amanda Marie Coleman of Kingsport, and Tyler Dane Malone of Abingdon, Va., were married Aug. 10, 2013, at The Barn at Boone Falls, Johnson City. The Rev. Don Muncie officiated at the 6:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Timothy and Teresa Coleman of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Dale and Dana Coleman of Jonesborough, Ruby Mellons of Church Hill, and the late J.C. “Shorty” Mellons. The bridegroom is the son of Terry and Nyana Malone of Abingdon, and the grandson of William Jack Malone of Bristol, Va., the late Maxine Malone, and James and Freda Stevenson of Blountville.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father.
Brittany Coleman, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Callie Coleman, sister of the bride; Sarah Manis; Kristine Meade; Amber King and Bethany Brickey. Kailey Thompson was flower girl.
Justin Malone served his brother as best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Jordan, Justin Reising, Benny Fuller, Brandon Wallace and Garon Compton. Elijah Cole Carter was ring bearer.
A reception was held at The Barn at Boone Falls.
The bride graduated from Sullivan South High School, where she was a member of the cheerleading team, and received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from King College. She is a full-time graduate student at East Tennessee State University with plans to graduate in December 2013 with a master’s of science degree in nursing concentration family nurse practitioner. She is a member of Glen Alpine United Methodist Church, Kingsport.
The bridegroom graduated from Abingdon High School and received a bachelor of arts degree in history from King College, where he was a member of the baseball team. He is employed at Black Wolf Harley Davidson, Bristol, Va., and attends Glen Alpine United Methodist Church.
Following a wedding trip to Key Largo, Fla., the couple resides in Gray.
Wolfe 80th birthday
Beatrice Willis Wolfe will celebrate her 80th birthday with a reception to be held in her honor from 1 to 4 p.m., Nov. 2, 2013, in the activity building at Bloomingdale Baptist Church.
The event is being hosted by friends and family.
Mrs. Wolfe was born Nov. 4, 1933, in Sullivan County. She has been married to Odell D. Wolfe for 59 years.
She is the mother of Linda (Michael) McCloud, Donna Federico and Joe (Erin) Wolfe, all of Kingsport; Doyle Wolfe of Glen Allen, Va., and Larry (Maria) Wolfe of Houston, Texas.
She has nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
She was employed at Wolfe’s Saw & Fix-it Shop with her husband Odell and retired in 1993, after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Wolfe and her husband have been members of Bloomingdale Baptist Church for 58 years.
The presence of family and friends is the only gift requested.
Hulse 50th wedding anniversary
John Henry and Norma Christine (Short) Hulse will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open reception to be held in their honor from 1 to 4 p.m., Nov. 2, 2013, at Homeland Baptist Church, 2504 Hawaii St., Kingsport.
The event is being hosted by their children.
The couple was married Nov. 2, 1963, in Weber City, Va., with the Rev. Claude Taylor officiating.
They are the parents of Kristie Hood and husband Jim of Kingsport, and Johnny Hulse of Kingsport. They are the grandparents of Brandon Hood and wife Cassi of Gray.
Mr. Hulse retired from Eastman Chemical Company in 1999. Mrs. Hulse is a full-time homemaker.
