Nave and Begley
Ann-Catherine Nave of Sevierville, Tenn., and James Asher Begley of Kingsport, Tenn., plan to be married at First United Methodist Church, Sevierville on Aug. 16, 2014.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Chuck and Sonya Nave of Sevierville, and the granddaughter of Robert and Polly Lee of Cleveland, Tenn., and Charles and Marilyn Nave of Sevierville.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Jim and Billie Ann Begley of Kingsport, and the grandson of Polly Begley of Kingsport, the late Keith Begley, Margie F. Colvin of Wagener, S.C., and the late Billy W. Colvin.
The couple met at their alma mater, The University of Tennessee, where both were members of the Global Leadership Scholars and received degrees in business administration in May 2012.
The bride-elect works as an internal auditor at BB&T Corp., and the bridegroom-to-be works at BB&T Corp. as an international banking analyst, both in Winston-Salem, N.C.
Dickerson and Goulds
Katheryn Christin Dickerson of Gray, Tenn., and Gabriel Steven Goulds of Johnson City, Tenn., plan to be married at 6 p.m., June 7, 2014, at Folly Beach, S.C.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Charles and Nancy Dickerson of Gray, and the granddaughter of the late Neil and Mary Leonard, and the late Kenneth and Ollie Dickerson. She graduated from Daniel Boone High School and East Tennessee State University. She is employed at Avoca Elementary School and attends Poplar Ridge Christian Church.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Greg and Karen Goulds of Johnson City, and the grandson of Charlie and Jane Bayless of Johnson City; Melvin and Carol Goulds of Lake Wales, Fla.; and Martha Banner of Johnson City. He graduated from Science Hill High School and Milligan College. He is employed at Coca-Cola Consolidated and attends Poplar Ridge Christian Church.
Witt and Hughes
Hayley Elizabeth Hughes of Syracuse, N.Y., and Robert David Witt of Kingsport, Tenn., were married Nov. 17, 2013, at Oak Tree Manor in Spring, Texas. The Rev. Christopher Bruce officiated at the 4:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Sheree Hughes of Syracuse, and the late Kenneth Hughes. She is the granddaughter of the late Kenneth and the late Hazel Hughes, formerly of Syracuse, and Robert and Joan Whitehead of Whiting, N.J. The bridegroom is the son of Rick and Beth Witt of Kingsport, and the grandson of the late Robert Jones Fortune and the late Hazel Fortune, formerly of Kingsport, and David and Johnnie Lee Witt of Hilton Head Island, S.C.
Given in marriage by her mother and escorted to the altar by her brothers Sean Hughes of San Antonio, Texas, and Rob Hughes of Syracuse, the bride wore an ivory satin and lace gown with intricate beaded detail.
Samantha McKeown of Odessa, Texas, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Rachel Witt, sister of the bridegroom, of Kingsport, and Amanda Woodford of Syracuse.
Benjamin Hilton of Johnson City, Tenn., served as best man. Groomsmen were Rea Cauthen of Houston, Texas, and Andrew Everett of Fort Worth, Texas. Ushers were Rob Hughes and Sean Hughes, brothers of the bride.
A reception was held at Oak Tree Manor.
The bride graduated from West Genesee Senior High School, Camillus, N.Y., in 2007. In 2012, she graduated magna cum laude from Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene, Texas, with a bachelor of behavioral science degree in ministry. She is employed at LifeWay Christian Bookstore.
The bridegroom graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2005. In 2010, he graduated summa cum laude from Clemson University with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering with a minor in music. He is employed as a chemical engineer at Exxon Mobil Corp., Houston.
Following a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in League City, Texas.
Anderson 50th anniversary
Bill D. and Dianne (Jennings) Anderson of Kingsport will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open reception to be held in their honor from 2 to 4 p.m., June 14, 2014, at Cassidy United Methodist Church, 5801 Memorial Blvd., Kingsport. Friends and co-workers are cordially invited to attend.
The event is being hosted by their daughters.
The couple was married June 13, 1964, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Hopewell, Va., with the Rev. Bernard Via officiating.
They are the parents of Susan Anderson Sneed of Maryville, and Lisa Anderson of Nashville. They are the grandparents of Susanna Gabriel Sneed of Maryville.
Mr. Anderson retired from Eastman Chemical Co. Mrs. Anderson retired from Wellmont Holston Valley.
The presence of family and friends is the only gift requested.
Todd and Smith
Kayla Brooke Todd of Gate City, Va., and Daniel Logan Smith of Nickelsville, Va., plan to be united in marriage Sept. 20, 2014.
The bride-elect is the daughter of the Rev. Mark and Brenda Todd of Gate City, and the granddaughter of the late Rev. Gene and Frances Todd, and the late Bill and Geraldine Carter, all formerly of Gate City. Kayla is a 2012 graduate of Gate City High School and is pursuing a degree in nursing. She is employed at Pal's, Gate City.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Terry and Brenda Smith of Nickelsville, and the grandson of Jim and Charlette Smith of Gate City, Lillian Campbell of Nickelsville, and the late William Campbell. Daniel is a 2009 graduate of Twin Springs High School and attended the University of Virginia's College at Wise. He is employed at McJunkin Redman Corp., Kingsport.
