Lindsey Lee Musick of Weber City, Va., and Criss Robert Golden of Chattanooga, Tenn., plan to be married at 1:30 p.m., July 5, 2010, at Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church.The bride-elect is the daughter of Lynn and Kathy Musick of Weber City, and the granddaughter of Lucille Carrico, the late Paul Carrico, Mary Musick and the late H.L. Musick. In May 2009, she graduated from King College, where she was a member of the volleyball team. She is employed as a teacher at Hilton Elementary School, and is a member of Ketron Memorial United Methodist Church.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Robert Golden of Harris burg, N.C., and the late Nancy Golden. He is the grandson of Franklin and Charlsie Bradford of East Ridge, Tenn., and Dean and Mary Ellen Golden of New Cumberland, W.Va. In May 2008, he graduated from King College, where he was a member of the soccer team and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is employed by Aflac.
Mann and Rogers engagement
Alma Mann and Harold Rogers plan to be married in an open-church ceremony at 2 p.m., May 8, 2010, at Victory Apostolic Church, 1921 Kite St., Kingsport.Bishop Hagan Webb will officiate at the double-ring ceremony.We would like our family, church family and friends to join us on our special day. Rogers and Ankabrandt wedding
Kimberly Marie Ankabrandt of Kingsport, and Nathan Robert Logan Rogers of Kingsport were married Feb. 20, 2010 at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dr. A. Clark Jenkins officiated at the 1:30 p.m., ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Steve and Nancy Ankabrandt of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Don and Faye Ankabrandt of Boiling Springs, Pa., and the late Dean and E. Virginia Young man. The bridegroom is the son of Robert and Angel Rogers of Kingsport, and the grandson of Maxie Hood of Kingsport, the late Nathan P. Hood, Harold Rogers of Kingsport and the late Jerry Rogers.Given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a satin and organza A-line gown with a side-draped bodice and beaded pink metal embroidery. The gown extended into a chapel-length train.Karen Ankabrandt of Kingsport was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Ethne Brown of Boiling Springs, Pa.; Laura Jones of Kingsport; and Casey Lowrance of Chattanooga, Tenn.Trey Lowrance of Chattanooga served as best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Ankabrandt of Kingsport; Tim Rhea of Bristol, Va.; and Andy Young of Bristol, Tenn. Matt Hall of Kingsport was usher. Ring bearers were Cade and Coen Lowrance, nephews of the bridegroom, of Chattanooga.A reception was held at Americourt Hotel, Kingsport.The bride graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and East Tennessee State University, where she was a member of Alpha Psi Omega national theatre honor society.The bridegroom was a home school graduate and graduated from Northeast State Community College and King College. He was a member of Phi Theta Kappa.Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Kingsport.
Wheelock 60th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Nat (Beulah) Wheelock of Colonial Heights, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary March 18, 2010.The couple was married March 18, 1950, in Fall Branch.They are the parents of Yvonne Rakes and Jennifer Wheelock of Atlanta, Ga., and Polly LePorte of Los Angeles, Calif. They are the grandparents of Natalie and Taylor Rakes of Atlanta, and Tennessee and Isabel la LePorte of Los Angeles.They are active members of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Church.Nat retired from Eastman Chemical Co. after 43 years of service. Beulah retired as director of Colonial Heights Presbyterian Pre-School after 20 years of service.To celebrate, their daughters hosted a luncheon for 21 family members. A trip is planned for later.
Roberts wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Don E. (Carole J. Skaggs) Roberts Sr. of Gate City, Va., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary April 21. The couple was married April 21, 1960, in Gate City, Va., with the Rev. Lucian Lane officiating. They are the parents of Don E. Roberts Jr., Gate City, Va.; Jeffery L. Roberts, Weber City, Va.; and David A. Roberts, Kingsport; and the grandparents of Chris Roberts, Mason Roberts, Dylan Roberts, Brandi Roberts, Wayne Gamble, Angie Graham and April Fritz.They are the great-grandparents of Austin Gamble, Kortney and Emily Graham, and Matt, Bryce and Nathaniel Fritz. Mr. Roberts retired from Food Country USA. Mrs. Roberts is a homemaker.
