Beach and McNeely engagement
Mr. and Mrs. Ron A. Beach of Rogersville, Tenn., announce the engagement of their daughter, Dr. Elizabeth Anne Beach, to David Eugene McNeely III, son of Dr. and Mrs. David Eugene McNeely Jr., of Elizabethton, Tenn.The bride-elect graduated from Cherokee High School in 2001 and in 2005 received a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from Virginia Tech. In 2009, she received a doctorate of pharmacy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She is the granddaughter of the late Beatrice Price Dykes and Walter L. Miner, and the late Paul and Joanne Beach.Her fianc graduated from Elizabethton High School in 1999 and in 2004 received a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. In 2006, he received a master's degree in biomedical engineering from Virginia Tech. He will graduate in May from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center with a doctorate of medicine and will begin his residency in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in June. He is the grandson of Dolores Hart, the late Richard Hart, David Eugene McNeely Sr., and the late Marie McNeely.The couple will be married at the Rogersville Presbyterian Church on June 5, 2010.
Willis and Hickman wedding
Mary Elizabeth Hickman of Blountville, and Kevin David Willis of Kingsport, were married May 23, 2009, at Holy Mountain Baptist Church. Jerry Musick and Terry Hommel officiated at the 6 p.m. ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Mark and Vickie Hickman of Blountville, and the granddaughter of Larry and Rebecca Hickman, and the late Wanda Miller and Wayne Hommel. She is the great-granddaughter of Mae Hickman and the late Jay Hickman. The bridegroom is the son of J.C. and Teresa Jessee, and David Willis. He is the grandson of Ray and Helen Pope, and Donnie and Marie Willis. He is the great-grandson of Ruby Jackson.The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.Kali Hickman, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Cassie Blevins, Amanda Russell, Elizabeth Carrick and Laura Cochrane. Flower girls were Lydia Hommell and Olivia Cochrane.Landon Leedy served as best man. Groomsmen were Dave Phillips, Brian McGaha, Hunter Williams and Justin Marshall. Ring bearers were Andrew Cochrane and Hayden Russell. Ushers were Nathaniel Fillers and Nicholas Fillers.A reception was held in the family center at Holy Mountain Baptist Church.The bride and bridegroom are employed by Arby's and are members of Holy Mountain Baptist Church.Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, the couple resides in Kingsport.
Dye and Reeves engagement
Amy Danielle Dye of Kingsport, and William Eric Reeves of McKenzie, Tenn., plan to be married at 2 p.m., Aug. 7, 2010, at Allandale Gazebo.The bride-elect is the daughter of Ron and Regina Dye of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of the late Dan and Eileen Quillen, and the late Raymond and Grace Dye. She received a bachelor's degree and master's degree in history from East Tennessee State University, where she was a member of Phi Alpha Theta, Pi Gamma Mu and Admissions Ambassadors. She is employed at Sullivan County Schools.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Doyle and Theresa Reeves of McKenzie, and the grandson of the late Bill and Ines Reeves, and the late Elbert and Katherine Lawrence. He received a bachelor's degree in history from Tennessee Technological University, and a master's degree in history from ETSU. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He is employed at Portfolio Recovery Associates, Jackson, Tenn.
Robbins 70th wedding anniversary
God has blessed Walter A. Robbins Sr. and Lillian A. (Price) Robbins with 70 wonderful years of marriage together. The couple was married April 13, 1940, in Jonesville, Va., with the Rev. O.C. Wright officiating. They moved to Kingsport in 1945, where they reside today.To celebrate this very special time, a reception was given in their honor by their children Anita C. Smith and Dr. Walter A. Robbins Jr. They were joined by family and friends for this special occasion at Magnolia Banquet Hall, Kingsport.Thank you to everyone who attended and made this so special and wonderful for them.
Paul 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Milton H. (Judith McHaney) Paul celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 17, 2010, with a surprise dinner, hosted by their children, at MeadowView Conference Resort and Convention Center.The couple was married April 17, 1960, at First Christian Church, Kingsport, with Rev. Roger T. Rankin of Belvue Christian Church officiating.They are the parents of Laura Kovacich of Columbia, S.C.; Lynn Spradling of Doniphan, Mo., and Leon Paul of Knoxville. They are the grandparents of Cory, Austin and Colton Paul, all of Knoxville.Mr. Paul retired from Eastman Kodak Co., Kingsport, after 37 years of service. Mrs. Paul was owner of The Needlecraft in Colonial Heights for 22 years.
