Kara Lashay Peters and Aaron Sky Robinette plan to be married Sept. 18, 2010.The bride-elect is the daughter of Mike and Debbie Peters, and the granddaughter of E.S. Peters, the late Tennessee Peters, Robert and Jean Berry, and Ken Gouge. She graduated from Sullivan South High School and received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from East Tennessee State University. She is employed as an RN at Johnson City Medical Center.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Tisha Deakins, Marvin Tolly, and Jeff and Kim Robinette. He is the grandson of Mary Anne Robinette, the late B.F. Robinette, Sally Peters, the late Lester Peters, Marvin Tolly and the late Alieen Tolly. He graduated from Sullivan South High School and attended Maryville College and Northeast State Community College. He is employed as an EMT/firefighter for the Kingsport Fire Department.
Kinkead and Vicars announcement
Amy Elizabeth Kinkead of Dungannon, Va., and William Sherman Vicars of Nickelsville, Va., plan to be married in an open-church ceremony at 2 p.m, Aug. 7, 2010, at Sabra Chapel Church, Nickelsville.The bride-elect is the daughter of Randall "Buck" and Kay Kinkead of Dungannon, and the granddaughter of Kyle and Joyce Horn of Dungannon, the late Goldie Horne, Colleen Kinkead of Fort Blackmore, Va., and the late Dock Kinkead. She graduated from Twin Springs High School in 2004, and is employed by Apex Healthcare, Kingsport.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Douglas and Sharon Vicars of Nickelsville, and the grandson of the late Claude and Stella Price, and the late Dale and Arnold Vicars. He graduated from Twin Springs High School in 2000, and is employed by BAE Systems, Kingsport.The couple attends Sabra Chapel Church.

Clifton 50th wedding anniversary
Jim and Sarah (Greer) Clifton of the Cold Springs community in Surgoinsville will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends on Aug. 8, 2010.They were married in Gate City, Va., on Aug. 6, 1960.They are the parents of Calvin and wife Leslie of Kingsport, and Jerry and wife Pam of Surgoinsville. They are the proud grandparents of Megan and Peyton of Kingsport, and Connor and Dawson of Surgoinsville. Mr. Clifton retired from Holliston Mills and also owned and operated Clifton Tractor & Implement for many years. He enjoys tractors and farm equipment, farming, and raising beef cattle.Mrs. Clifton is a teacher aide at Surgoinsville Elementary School, and she enjoys sewing and making crafts and flower arrangements that she shares with many.They are active members of Cold Springs Baptist Church. They will celebrate their anniversary with an open reception to be held in their honor from 2 to 4 p.m., Aug. 8, 2010, at Holston Electric Cooperative, 219 S. Central Ave., Church Hill. The event is being hosted by their children and family. The presence of family and friends is the only gift requested.
Norman 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lowell (Alice Queener) Norman of Kingsport, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 8, 2010 on a getaway paid for by their children.The couple was married July 8, 1960, in LaFollette, Tenn., with the Rev. Hudon Overbey officiating.They are the parents of Beth Burk and husband Rick of Kingsport; Tracey Norman of Church Hill, and Donna Arnold and husband Teddy of Kingsport. They are the grandparents of John Fluce III, Jeremy Fluce, Hannah Arnold, Teddy Arnold, Trey Burk, Joseph Penley and Matthew Burk.Mr. Norman retired from Eastman Chemical Co. Mrs. Norman retired from Kroger Stores.
