Suits and Wilson wedding announcement
Allison Leigh Wilson of Kingsport, and John Ryan Suits of Cleveland, Tenn., were married Dec. 19, 2009, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Johnson City. The Rev. Jim Richter officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Roger and Vickie Wilson of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Lorraine Moody of Kingsport, the late Milburn Moody, Jean Wilson of Blountville, and the late Ralph Wilson. The bridegroom is the son of Alvin and Connie Suits of Cleveland, and the grandson of the late Johnny and Linda Wallace, formerly of Orlando, Fla., and the late Odell and Joyce Suits, formerly of Cleveland. The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father.Shelley Thompson was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Suits, Michelle Merrick and K.C. Ogbonnaya. Tiana Berkel was flower girl.James Suits served as best man. Groomsmen were Jarrod Suits, Joe Suits and Colin Spaulding. Ushers were Trevor Wilson and Andy Ladd. A reception was held at the Holiday Inn following the ceremony.The bride graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and received a bachelor's degree in exercise science from East Tennessee State University, where she was a member of Wesley Foundation and Reformed University Fellowship. She is currently enrolled in the physical therapy doctoral program at East Tennessee State University and plans to graduate in December 2011. She is a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Johnson City.The bridegroom graduated from Walker Valley High School, Cleveland, and received a bachelor's degree in speech communication from East Tennessee State University, where he was a member of Wesley Foundation and served as preview and orientation leader for the university. He is employed as an admissions representative at King College, and is a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he is also employed as worship leader.Following a wedding trip to Atlanta, the couple resides in Johnson City.
Coffman and Garrison engagement annoucement
Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Lee Coffman of Gray, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Ericha Marie to Thomas Christopher Garrison, son of Stephen and Carol Garrison of Johnson City. The bride-elect is a 2007 graduate of Daniel Boone High School and will receive a degree in cardiovascular technology from Northeast State Community College in August. She is the granddaughter of Lou Egger of Johnson City, and Mr. and Mrs. Niles Lee Coffman of Kingsport.Her fiance is a 2003 graduate of Science Hill High School and holds a degree in aviation science from Utah Valley State College. He is employed by the City of Johnson City. He is the grandson of Mary Collins of Johnson City, the late Tom Collins and the late David and Dottie Garrison.An open-church wedding is planned for 2 p.m., Aug. 21, 2010, at Tri-Cities Baptist Church, 171 Promise Land Drive, Gray.
Lane and Boggs wedding announcement
The families of Benny Boggs and Renee Lane are pleased to announce their upcoming wedding.Benny lives in Charlotte N.C., and works for Presbyterian Medical Center as a BBA, RRT, neonatal pediatric specialist (NPS) and will soon finish a master of business administration degree in health-care administration.Renee lives in Coeburn Va., and works for USSA and Heritage Hall of Wise. She attends college full-time and plans to receive a bachelor of arts degree in psychology in spring 2011.The couple share four children. Benny has two daughters, Amanda, 20, and Jessica, 18. Renee has a daughter, Victoria, 20, and a son, Caleb, 13.The couple dated several years in high school and were re-united in Anchorage, Alaska, in June 2009 for the first time in 23 years! A fall wedding is planned in Anchorage, Alaska.The couple are pleased to invite all family and friends to attend.
Ruby Pullon Hilton 90th birthday
Ruby Pullon Hilton celebrated her 90th birthday July 24, 2010, in Gatlinburg, with her daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Lonnie, as well as Chris and Lorie Daugherty.Ruby was married to Kermit Hilton for 50 years until his death in 1991. Her parents were Clint Pullon and Mattie Wilson Pullon.She is the mother of Buddy Hilton, Louise Sampson, Joyce Brooks, the late Annette Lichlyter and Shelby Sammons. She has eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.She loves canning and gardening.
Sherman Orville Whitaker 90th birthday
Happy 90th birthday, Aug. 3, 2010, to Sherman Orville Whitaker.The Whitaker family and other members of the family, friends and just people who know him helped Sherman Whitaker celebrate his 90th birthday on Aug. 7, 2010 in Church Hill.The man has several names Sherm, Orville, Sherman, Brother, Papa, our friend, our hero and the best Dad in the world.Sherman is a World War II veteran with 50-plus years in the American Legion. He is a member of the Church Hill V.F.W. serving many years in the color guard. He was a charter member in the Mount Carmel Ruritan Club for many years, had a Boy Scout troop in Mount Carmel, served on the Church Hill Community Chest, and delivered Meals on Wheels.After retiring from Holston Army Ammunition Plant he became a servant to people all around here. He has been a giver his whole life, helping people and has been a great influence on all who know him. Some of his best memories are playing ball, bowling, hunting and fishing. He loved going to North Dakota bird hunting and all the friends he made out there.The Whitaker family would like to thank God for giving us this great man for 90 years and may this be the best birthday of all and may many follow. They would also like to thank all the special people who came to help celebrate this special event.
