Gillenwater and Malone wedding announcement
Penny Allison Gillenwater of Gate City, Va., and Robert Allen Malone of Jonesborough, plan to be married in an open-church ceremony at 4 p.m., Sept. 11, 2010, at Midway Baptist Church.The bride-elect is the daughter of Tommy R. and Janice Gillenwater of Gate City, and the granddaughter of Sallie Nash of Fort Blackmore, Va., the late Ertel Nash, and the late Jake and Monnie Gillenwater, all formerly of Fort Blackmore. She is a 2000 graduate of Gate City High School and is employed at Scott County Telephone Cooperative.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Eddie and Ann Malone of Jonesborough, and the grandson of Kate Dykes of Jonesborough, the late Syrl Dykes, and the late Grover and Mandy Malone, all formerly of Jonesborough. He is a 2000 graduate of David Crockett High School and is employed at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Johnson City.
Crawford and Misciagna wedding announcement
Lauren Beth Crawford of Fall Branch, and Joseph Richard Misciagna of Kingsport, plan to be married at 5 p.m., Oct. 9, 2010, at the Oaks Castle, Johnson City.The bride-elect is the daughter of Gale and Carol Crawford of Fall Branch, and the granddaughter of Juanita Sams, the late James Sams, Bill Crawford and the late Juanita Crawford. Lauren graduated from Sullivan South High School, attended King College and has completed the cardiovascular program at Northeast State Community College.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Mike and Enza Misciagna of Kingsport, and the grandson of Joseph and Dora Misciagna, and the late Joseph and Angela Mattera. Joey graduated from Sullivan South High School and attended East Tennessee State University. He is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force stationed in England. After their marriage, the couple will reside in Minot, N.D.
Fred Hensley 90th birthday
Fred Hensley celebrated his 90th birthday with a party at Gardner Farm on the Holston River, June 19, 2010, with family and friends.He is the father of Ralph Hensley and Gary Hensley.Fred is a World War II veteran and a graduate of Hiltons High School.Fred would like to thank God for giving him 90 years and may this be the best birthday of all and may many follow. He would like to thank all the special people who came to help celebrate this special event.
Rosa Culbertson 100th birthday
Rosa Culbertson of Kingsport, will celebrate her 100th birthday with a reception to be held in her honor from 2 to 5 p.m. today, Sept. 5, 2010, at her home, 709 Teasel Drive.Friends and family are invited to come by and share her birthday cake and visit with her.Mrs. Culbertson, the oldest member of Higher Ground Baptist Church, is the mother of Dana Warner of Kingsport; Oneta Ashbrook of Abingdon, Va.; Guy Castle of Castlewood, Va.; and Roger Castle of Bristol. She has 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren.No gifts please.
Ketron 50th wedding anniversary
Wallace and Nina Ketron celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 4, 2010, with a reception at Crown Colony Clubhouse.The event was hosted by their children and grandchildren.The couple was married on Sept. 8, 1960, at Goshen Valley Church of God, Church Hill.Wallace and Nina are the parents of Wally of Kingsport, Phil of Blountville, and Gina Williams of Winter Haven, Fla.Wallace retired as superintendent of Sullivan County Schools. Nina was a registered nurse with most of her experience in health-care administration.
