Ashley Davis Prendergast and Michael Charles Holtzhower, both of Chattanooga, Tenn., plan to be married at 6:30 p.m., June 19, 2010 at The Carnegie Hotel, Johnson City. The bride-elect is the daughter of Bob and Carolyn Prendergast of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Betty Quimby of Johnson City; Cliff Quimby of Mooresville, N.C.; the late Nancy Paty Prendergast and the late William D. Prendergast. She graduated from Sullivan South High School in 2002. She received a bachelor's degree in English from East Tennessee State University and master's degree in secondary education from Milligan College. She is a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church and is a teacher at Northwest Whitfield High School, Tunnel Hill, Ga. The bridegroom-to-be is the grandson of Joyce Garland of Jonesborough, the late Arthur Garland, the late Edna Holtzhower Roberts, the late Arbalee Holtzhower, and the late Charles Roberts. He graduated from Soddy Daisy High School in 2002. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing from East Tennessee State University. He is a member of the United Church of God. He is employed in sales and service at Southeast Diesel Inc., Chattanooga.

She graduated from Sullivan East High School in 2006, and attends Milligan College. She is employed at Mountain States Health Alliance.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Perry and Donna Whitaker of Blountville, and the grandson of Carlos and Aldie Whitaker of Blountville, Connie King of Blountville, and the late Keith King. He graduated from Sullivan Central High School in 2003, and attended Walters State Community College. He is employed by Sullivan County.

Fletcher 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. John Clayton (Phyllis Ann Vance) Fletcher of Church Hill, Tenn., will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open reception to be held in their honor at 2 p.m., June 19, 2010, at Okolona United Methodist Church.The event is being hosted by family and friends.The couple was married June 18, 1960 at First Baptist Church, Weber City, Va., with the Rev. They are the grandparents of Amanda (Jason) Kile, Adam Fletcher, Matthew Fletcher, Jessee Bledsoe and Andrew (April) Holmes. They are the great-grandparents of Mayson, Maleah, Malayna, Mylee, Jessee, Aluxas, Ethan and Layne.Mr. Fletcher retired from AFG Church Hill.
