Kilgore and Widener engagement
Katie Lona Kilgore of Kingsport, and Michael Aaron Widener of Meadowview, Va., plan to be married at 2 p.m., June 19, 2010 at the home of the Widener family.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Dean "Tony" and Donna Kilgore of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Dean and Donna Kilgore of San Antonio, Texas, and the late Robert and Jean Bayless. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2003 and from Lee University in 2007. She is employed at Ketron Intermediate School.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Roy Timothy "€œTim" and Patricia Widener of Meadowview, and the grandson of J.R. and Lucille Widener of Abingdon, Va., Edward Childers of Chilhowie, Va., and the late Lillian Virginia "€œGinny" Childers. He graduated from Holston High School in 1998, from Virginia Highlands Community College in 2001 and from the University of Virginia'€™s College at Wise in 2004. He is employed with the Town of Abingdon.
Williams and Trinkle engagement
Melissa Ann Williams of Nickelsville, Va., and Brett Aaron Trinkle of Jonesville, Va., plan to be married at 7 p.m., June 21, 2010 on Folly Beach in Charleston, S.C.The bride-elect is the daughter of Jerry and Donna Fields of Nickelsville, and the granddaughter of Landon and Loretta Vance of Cleveland, Va., the late Alma Jean Vance, and late J.P. and Nellie Mae Fields. She graduated from Twin Springs High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies in education from East Tennessee State University in 2003 and a master of education in curriculum and instruction degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 2009. Melissa is employed by Scott County Schools.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Stanley and Sherry Trinkle of Jonesville, and the grandson of Samuel and Sylvia Zirkle of Big Stone Gap, Va., and the late Oakley and Helen Trinkle. He graduated from Lee High School and is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies in education with a minor in military science at East Tennessee State University. He served as the recruiting and retention non-commissioned officer for Wise and Dickenson counties for the Army National Guard from 2003-2009 and is a prospective Army ROTC cadet at East Tennessee State University. Upon graduation, Brett plans to work as an elementary school teacher.
Fantin and Morrison engagement
April Heather Fantin of Kingsport, and Shane Chandler Morrison of Abingdon, Va., plan to be married in an open-church ceremony at 1 p.m., July 24, 2010, at Grace Evangelical Free Church.The bride-elect is the daughter of Edward and Cindy Fantin of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Sally A. Stern of Waterford, Mich., the late Richard J. Stern, Edward and Sandy Fantin of Brookfield, Conn., and France Hamann of Carmel, N.Y. She graduated from Tri-Cities Christian Schools and King College. She is employed as a registered nurse at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Billy W. and Brendia M. Morrison of Abingdon, and the grandson of Roddy W. and C. Mae Reece of Blountville, and Curtis and Francis Morrison of Lebanon, Va.He graduated from Abingdon High School and King College. He is pursuing a graduate degree in engineering at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he also is employed.

Prendergast. She graduated from Sullivan South High School in 2002. She received a bachelor's degree in English from East Tennessee State University and master's degree in secondary education from Milligan College. She is a member of St. Christopher's Episcopal Church and is a teacher at Northwest Whitfield High School, Tunnel Hill, Ga. The bridegroom-to-be is the grandson of Joyce Garland of Jonesborough, the late Arthur Garland, the late Edna Holtzhower Roberts, the late Arbalee Holtzhower, and the late Charles Roberts. He graduated from Soddy Daisy High School in 2002. He received a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing from East Tennessee State University. He is a member of the United Church of God. He is employed in sales and service at Southeast Diesel Inc., Chattanooga.
