Paul 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Milton H. (Judith McHaney) Paul celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary April 17, 2010, with a surprise dinner, hosted by their children, at MeadowView Conference Resort and Convention Center.The couple was married April 17, 1960, at First Christian Church, Kingsport, with Rev. Roger T. Rankin of Belvue Christian Church officiating.They are the parents of Laura Kovacich of Columbia, S.C.; Lynn Spradling of Doniphan, Mo., and Leon Paul of Knoxville. They are the grandparents of Cory, Austin and Colton Paul, all of Knoxville.Mr. Paul retired from Eastman Kodak Co., Kingsport, after 37 years of service. Mrs. Paul was owner of The Needlecraft in Colonial Heights for 22 years.
Bledsoe 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Beatrice Bishop) Bledsoe of Kingsport, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Natural Tunnel Cove Ridge Center, Clinchport, Va.The event was hosted by their daughter Michelle Meade and her husband Mike.The couple was married Sept. 25, 1959, at First Baptist Church, Gate City, with Pastor Lester Ferguson officiating.Mr. Bledsoe retired from Mead Corp. Mrs. Bledsoe worked at Eastman Chemical Co. prior to her marriage.
Duncan and Porter engagement
Lauren Olivia Duncan of Church Hill, and Michael Corey Porter of Mount Carmel, plan to be married in an open-church ceremony at 2 p.m., Sept. 18, 2010, at First Baptist Church, Church Hill.The bride-elect is the daughter of Diane Hall and husband Steve Hall of Kingsport, and Michael Duncan and wife Barbara Duncan of Church Hill. She is the granddaughter of the late Clark Christian, Patricia Christian of Church Hill, and J.C. and Ann Duncan of Church Hill. She graduated from Sullivan South High School in 2004 and received an associate's degree from Northeast State Community College in 2008. She is employed as a surgical tech at Dermatology Associates of Kingsport.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Eddie and Patricia Porter of Mount Carmel, and the grandson of Craft and Viola Adams of Church Hill, and the late John and Jeanette Isenberg. He graduated from Volunteer High School in 2004 and received an associate's degree from Walters State Community College in 2009. He is employed as a registered nurse at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.Olivia and Michael attend Power Point Ministries Church.
Ruth H. Ringstaff 100th birthday
Mrs. Ruth H. Ringstaff celebrated her 100th birthday on May 3, 2010, in Abingdon, Va.Ruth is a retired teacher who has always had a passion for teaching whether it was in school or in church. She continues to live in her home while enjoying the company of others to help her.A birthday celebration for Ruth was held at Abingdon First United Methodist Church on May 2, 2010. Sensibaugh and Cox engagement
Amanda Dawn Sensibaugh of Nashville, Tenn., and David Neil Cox, also of Nashville, plan to be married at 6 p.m., July 17, 2010 at the Wightman Chapel, Scarritt Bennett, Nashville.The bride-elect is the daughter of David and Debbie Sensibaugh of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Peggy Lavery of Blacksburg, Va., and the late William Lavery, and Betty Sensibaugh of Cincinnati, Ohio, and the late Hugh Sensibaugh. Ms. Sensibaugh graduated from Sullivan South High School and was a summa cum laude graduate of Carson Newman College. She is pursuing a master's in business administration degree at the Owen School of Business at Vanderbilt University. She is employed as director of sales and marketing at the Nashville Airport Marriott.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Neil and Marion Cox, and the grandson of Muriel Smith of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, and the late Milson Smith, and the late Charles and Edith Ward. Mr. Cox graduated from Kenner Collegiate High School, Peterborough, and received a bachelor's degree in hotel & convention management from Centennial College in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Cox has been employed with Marriott International for 10 years and currently serves as a senior account executive for the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort, Golf Club & Spa, Marco Island, Fla.
