Moats and Hillhouse marriage announcement
Sandra Jane Hillhouse of Knoxville, and Joshua Frank Moats of Knoxville, were married June 19, 2010, at The Foundry on World's Fair Park. The Rev. Rich Elseroad of Grace Lutheran Church, Knoxville, officiated at the 5:30 p.m. ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Charles "Chuck" and Jane Hillhouse of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of David and Mary Hillhouse of Kingsport, and Richard and Aileen Luehrman of Warrensburg, Mo. She is the honorary granddaughter of Ruth Walton Jones of Kingsport. The bridegroom is the son of Bethany Moats of Maryville, Tenn., and the grandson of Arrie Moats of Maryville, and the late Charles Moats, formerly of Maryville.The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.The bridal party included Tami Hillhouse, sister of the bride, and Lisa Swanson, Jason Grygier, Anne Marie Martin and Katie Love, friends of the bride. The bridegroom's attendants included David Harris, Erik Judd, Brett Garvey, Corey Mullen and Adam Lawson, friends of the bridegroom.The wedding service pianist was Benjamin Beaver, friend of the bride. Jane Hillhouse, mother of the bride, played a violin prelude.Kyle Davis, friend of the bride, and Jared Yaw, friend of the bridegroom, served as ushers. The bride's friends Christina Morrison, Alison Reed and Megan Schroder were bridal attendants.Swing dance instruction at the reception was provided by Knoxville Swing Dance Association members Jeremy Brantley and Jennifer Laird with Dan Parshall, disc jockey.The bride graduated from Sullivan South High School, and received a bachelor's degree in architecture from Clemson University. She is pursuing a master's degree in facilities management from Rochester Institute of Technology and is employed by Management Solutions of Knoxville as a facilities planner at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.The bridegroom graduated from Bearden High School, and received a bachelor's degree in English, philosophy and religious studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is a graduate assistant, pursuing a master's degree in literature at UT. He is also employed at Bonefish Grill.Following a honeymoon trip to Port Saint Lucie, Fla., the couple resides in Knoxville.
Holtzclaw and Oaks marriage announcement
Donna Lynn Oaks of Surgoinsville, and Carl Travis Holtzclaw of Kingsport, were married Nov. 3, 2010, at the home of the bride and bridegroom. The Rev. Junior Bowery officiated at the 6 p.m. ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Eldora Chappell of Rogersville, and the late Don Oaks, formerly of Gray. She is the granddaughter of Murtle White of Kingsport, and the late Clifford "Pop" White, formerly of Kingsport. The bridegroom is the son of Cliff and Linda Holtzclaw of Kingsport, and the grandson of Ben Neeley and Roxie of Kingsport, and Robert Holtzclaw and Pauline Edmondson of Johnson City.The bride was given in marriage and escorted by Jesse Duncan. Stacey Richards was matron of honor. Lauren Winigar was maid of honor.Mark Richards served as best man.The bride graduated from Volunteer High School and is employed at ICG Holliston Mills.The bridegroom graduated from Sullivan North High School and is self-employed.Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, the couple resides in Surgoinsville.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Denton of Kingsport, Tenn.The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Everette Kneece of Gilbert, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Rabon Jr., formerly of Gilbert. She is a graduate of Gilbert High School and received a bachelor of science degree in financial management from Clemson University. The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Denton of Abingdon, Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Jobe, formerly of Corinth, Miss. He is a graduate of Sullivan South High School, Kingsport, and received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Clemson University.Matt and Tara serve on staff at Crosspoint Church in Clemson, S.C., and both are pursuing master of divinity degrees from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.The wedding ceremony is planned for Dec. 11, 2010, at Crosspoint Church.
Jones and Cook engagement announcement
Heather Nicole Jones of Elizabethton, and John Lafe Cook of Kingsport, plan to be married in December 2010, in Kingsport.The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Shirley and Earl Grindstaff of Elizabethton, and the daughter of Bob and Becky Jones of Gray. She is pursuing a doctorate of education at East Tennessee State University, where she was a member of the first graduating class of Roan Scholars. She is a graduate assistant for ETSU's Center for Appalachian Studies and Services.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Dr. John E. Cook of Page, Ariz., and Marjorie Cook of Cortez, Colo. He is the director of Dobyns-Bennett High School Band. He is a past president of the Tennessee Bandmasters Association, on the board of directors of the National Band Association, state band chair for Tennessee Music Educators Association, and the youngest elected member of the American Bandmasters Association.
Ramey 50th wedding anniversary
Conley and Barbara (Bishop) Ramey of Kingsport, marked their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 26, 2010.A celebration was held Aug. 28, 2010, at Homeland Baptist Church's Carter Hall.The event was hosted by family and friends.Thanks to each one who attended and made it such a memorable occasion. Mr. Ramey is owner and operator of R&R Auto. Mrs. Ramey retired from the City of Kingsport.
