Wilder and Jones announcement
Mr. and Mrs. Tony Wilder of Kingsport are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey Marie, to Jeremy Allen Jones. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Virginia Evans of Middlesboro, Ky., the late James Edward Evans, formerly of Middlesboro, and Roy and Joan Wilder of Middlesboro. Lindsey is a 2004 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School and is pursuing a degree in public relations at East Tennessee State University, where she is a member of the Lambda Delta Alpha Communications Honor Society. Lindsey was Miss Kingsport 2009. She is employed by Holston Valley Broadcasting Corporation as the promotions director for 98.5 WTFM and 102.7 WVEK. The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Jones of Mount Carmel, Tenn., and the grandson of Ruth Jones of Kingsport, the late Rufus Jones, formerly of Kingsport, and the late Dewey and Louise Bowman, formerly of Kingsport. Jeremy is a 2002 graduate of Volunteer High School and a 2006 graduate of East Tennessee State University, where he received a bachelor of science degree in history and Earth science. Jeremy is employed as the assistant manager at the First Utility District of Hawkins County. The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at First Baptist Church, Church Hill, Tenn., with a reception to follow at the New Canton Plantation.
Clark and Cronin announcement
Alison Grace Clark of Kingsport, and Ryan Patrick Cronin of Columbia, S.C., plan to be married at 5 p.m., Aug. 7, 2010, at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, Camden, S.C.The bride-elect is the daughter of Stephen R. Clark of Kingsport and Jean Y. Clark of Kingsport. She is the granddaughter of the late Robert and Jewel Clark, formerly of Knoxville, and S. Parker and Helen Young of Camden, S.C. In 2006, she graduated from Sullivan South High School, where she participated in soccer and track. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2010 with a bachelor of arts degree in international studies with a minor in public health. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Patricia Cronin of Ridgeway, S.C., and William Cronin of Rock Hill, S.C. He is the grandson of Lowell and Patricia Pyles of Cincinnati, Ohio; I. Joy Cronin of Wyoming, Ohio, and the late Richard Cronin, formerly of Wyoming, Ohio. In 2005, he graduated from Wyoming High School, Wyoming, Ohio, where he was on the football team. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2009 with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science.Following the wedding, the couple will attend Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee, Ga., and will reside in Lawrenceville, Ga.

She is the granddaughter of Juanita Jones of Church Hill, the late Gene Vance and the late Gale Webb. She graduated from Sullivan North High School and is employed at Zales Jewelers.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Marian Cox of Kingsport, and the grandson of Howard and Beulah Cox of Blountville. He graduated from Sullivan North High School and Northeast State Community College. He is employed by Eastman Chemical Co.
Lonnie M. Wooten Jr. 80th birthday
Lonnie M. Wooten Jr. will celebrate his 80th birthday with a reception to be held in his honor from 6 to 8 p.m., Aug. 6, 2010, in the fellowship building at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.The event is being hosted by his children.Mr. Wooten was born Aug. 6, 1930. He was married to Lillian Hammonds Wooten, now deceased, for 57 years.He is the father of Joel Wooten of Church Hill, and Mark Wooten of Mount Carmel. He has four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.He is presently pastor of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where he was been for 49 years.The presence of family and friends is the only gift requested.
Bonnie Lane 90th birthday
Bonnie Lane celebrated her 90th birthday recently at a family picnic.Bonnie was born July 12, 1920, in Kingsport, and is the daughter of Verlin and Vergie Bowery.She is the mother of Donald Wayne Lane, Linda Lane Williams and Patsy Lane Potter. She is the sister of Mary Carter.She has nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
