Carrie Alice Gray of Kingsport, and Joseph Thomas Churchwell of Kingsport, were married June 13, 2010, at Countryside Winery. The Rev. Sharon Davidson officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony.The bride is the daughter of John K. Gray and the late Lyndia Gray. She is the granddaughter of the late Edward L. and Eva Catherine Stewart, and the late Maddie Kate and Burl Gray. The bridegroom is the son of Evelyn Churchwell of Kingsport, and the grandson of the late Thomas and Velma Henry, and the late Charles and Edith Churchwell.Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore an ivory-colored satin gown with a beaded bodice and train.Anita King, sister of the bride, of Kingsport, was maid of honor.Stewart Splawn of Fort Blackmore, Va., served as best man. Bernie Mac, the couple's Jack Russell terrier, was ring bearer.The bride graduated from Sullivan South High School and attends Northeast State Community College.The bridegroom graduated from Gate City High School and is employed at Shaw Construction.Following a short wedding trip, the couple resides in Kingsport.

Doris Smith of Mount Carmel, will celebrate her 80th birthday with a drop-in reception to be held in her honor from 7 to 9 p.m., June 27, 2010, at the home of her daughter, 2652 Suffolk St., in the Preston Forest community of Kingsport.Mrs. Smith was born Doris Lee Cariens on June 27, 1930, in Illinois. She has been married to Donald Eugene Smith for 51 years.She is the mother of Clifford Leon Farra, Jody Dean Farra, Donna Smith Baker and Tina Smith Church of Kingsport.She is the grandmother of Tandy Farra, Brittany Baker, Bradley Baker, Brett Baker and Ryan and Amanda Church. She is the great-grandmother of Matthew and Madaline. She also has several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.She was employed at numerous industries and has most recently been a homemaker.She is a member of Mount Olive Church, where she plays piano.The presence of family and friends is the only gift requested.

She graduated from Porter-Gaud School and earned a bachelor of arts degree in finance from Wofford College. She is employed by UBS Financial Services.Mr. Wyker is the grandson of Mrs. Richard David Brockman of Kingsport, the late Mr. Brockman, Dr. Arthur William Wyker Jr. of Charlottesville, Va., and the late Mrs. Wyker. He graduated from The McCallie School and earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Virginia. He is employed as a commercial real estate broker with The Providence Group.The wedding is planned for Nov. 13, 2010, at Grace Episcopal Church, Charleston, S.C.

Woolworth Co. for 43 years.She attends Homeland Baptist Church.
Hawkins 50th wedding anniversary
Morris and Rita (Mullins) Hawkins of Kingsport will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 2, 2010. They were married on July 2, 1960, at Valley View Baptist Church, Clintwood, Va., with the Rev. Ase Hughes officiating.They are the parents of Larry and wife Robin of Surgoinsville, and Kevin and wife Wanda of Fall Branch. They are the grandparents of Dave Hawkins and wife Tyler of Fort Campbell, Ky.; Bobby Hawkins of Kingsport, and Daniel and Micheal Hawkins of Fall Branch. They are the great-grandparents of Logan, Noah, Brock, Miley and Maddox.Mr. Hawkins retired from the City of Kingsport, Mrs. Hawkins retired from C-Mart. They both enjoy spending time with family and friends.They will celebrate their anniversary beginning at 3 p.m., July 3, 2010, at Eastman Cabin 5.
