Hickman 50th wedding anniversary
Donald R. and Brenda Irene (Steadman) Hickman of Kingsport, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with an open reception held in their honor from 2 to 4 p.m., Jan. 8, 2011, at South View Park Building.The event was hosted by their family and attended by family and friends.The couple was married Jan. 8, 1961, in Gaffney, S.C., with Judge Douglas officiating.They are the parents of Duane Hickman and wife Stacey and Donna Bryant and husband David. They are the grandparents of Nicholas Hickman, Zachary Hickman, Drew Bryant and Jake Bryant.Mr. Hickman retired from Brick Delivery Co.Mrs. Hickman is a housewife.
Ball and Patton marriage announcement

The bridegroom is the son of Joe and Tammy Ball of Kingsport, and the grandson of Lois Alexander of Greeneville, the late John Alexander, and Cecil and Charlene Ball of Port Charlotte, Fla.The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father.Jennifer Duncan, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Danielle Ball, sister of the bridegroom, Anna Farmer, Lori Layne, Kaitlyn Lorick, Rachel Moore and Staci Turner. Arianna Wiggins, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.Adam Free served as best man. Groomsmen were J.T. Chadwell, Ethan Frazier, Drew Pierce, D.J. Wade, Tyler Warren and Lewis Wilson. Jayden Soter, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.The bride graduated from Clemson University and is employed at Eastman Credit Union.The bridegroom graduated from Sullivan South High School and is employed at Sloopy's.Following a wedding trip to Key West, Fla., the couple resides in Mount Carmel.

The bridegroom is the son of Charles and Jean Slemp of Dryden, and the grandson of Fay Slemp of Pennington Gap, the late Charles Slemp, Bernice Doss of Danville, Va., and the late William Doss.The bride was given in marriage by her mother and escorted to the altar by her uncle, H.L. Cooper.Kaylah Ann Skorupa, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Bethany Diane Skorupa, cousin of the bride, Callie Marie McCarty, Amanda Elizabeth Vanhook and Brittany Tess Robinson, friends of the bride. Cameron Slemp, nephew of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.The bride graduated from Powell Valley High School in 2006 and received a degree in business administration from the University of Virginia's College at Wise in 2010.The bridegroom graduated from Lee High School in 2004, received a degree in psychology from U.Va.-Wise in 2008 and received a master's degree in clinical psychology from Eastern Kentucky University.Following their honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico, the couple resides in Kingsport.
