Elizabeth Ashley Greif of Dade City, Fla., and Jonathan Seth Gilliam of Kingsport, plan to be married at 2 p.m., July 31, 2010, at Mill Spring Park Gazebo at The Wedding Loft, Historic Jonesborough.The bride-elect is the daughter of Lisa and David Bowen of Kingsport, and Edward and Wendy Greif of Hemmingway, S.C. She is the granddaughter of Andy and Nita Krig of Dade City, Betty Bowen of Kingsport, the late Charles Robert Bowen, the late John Greif and Tawana Greif of San Antonio, Fla. She graduated from Sullivan South High School, where she was a member of DECA. She is employed at Pal's Sudden Service.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Jon and Saundra Gilliam of Kingsport, and the grandson of Larry and Brenda Gilliam of Kingsport, Kathy Stratton of Kingsport, and Dudley Stratton of Rogersville. He graduated from Sullivan South High School. He serves with the U.S. Navy, based in Charleston S.C., and is a member of the Nuclear Field Program.
Blair 50th wedding anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph (Joyce Lipe) Blair Sr. will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary July 24, 2010.The couple was married July 23, 1960, at Memorial Chapel in Pressman's Home, with the Rev. Cyril Simkins officiating.They have two sons, Ralph Blair Jr. and fiancee Angie, and Stanley Blair and wife Marty. The loves of their lives are their two grandsons Tanner Blair and Ethan Blair.Ralph is a retired truck driver. Joyce is retired from Rockwell Automation.A drop-in reception hosted by their family will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., July 24, 2010, in the fellowship hall at West View Church. The presence of family and friends is the only gift requested.
Hartsock 50th wedding anniversary
Jay Dee and Rayaline (Dobson) Hartsock of Surgoinsville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 24, 2010.The couple was married June 24, 1960, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Emmett, Idaho.They are the parents of Tim Hartsock of Surgoinsville, Julie Hartsock of Front Royal, Va., and Leeta (Hartsock) Patterson and Danny of Church Hill.They have two grandchildren.Mr. Hartsock retired from Tennessee Eastman Co., Kingsport. Mrs. Hartsock retired from TRW, Rogersville.
Montieze Fogle Potts 99th birthday
Montieze Fogle Potts will celebrate her 99th birthday with a drop-in birthday reception held in her honor from 2 to 4 p.m., July 11, 2010 at the Price Public Community Center, Rogersville.The event it being hosted by her family celebrating 99 years of life's blessings.Your presence is the only presents requested.Mrs. Potts was born July 12, 1911 in Livingston, S.C., to Tillie and Ermania Fogle. She is the sole survivor of 10 children. She is the widow of the Rev. C.N. Potts who preceded her in death in April 1966. Montieze and her first husband, Edward Kirkland, had two sons, Edward Kirkland Jr. (wife, Phyllis) and the late Robert E. Kirkland (wife, Sue).Montieze and the Rev. Potts had one daughter, Joyce Potts who resides in Rogersville with "Mom."Montieze has four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. When her health allows, Montieze attends Rogersville First United Methodist Church, supervises the making of strawberry preserves and loves to admire the beautiful flowers God provides her.

She is a 2006 graduate of Powell Valley High School and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Virginia's College at Wise in 2010.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Charles and Jean Slemp of Dryden, and the grandson of Fay Slemp of Pennington Gap, and Bernice Doss of Danville. He is a 2004 graduate of Lee High School and received a bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Virginia's College at Wise in 2008 and a master's degree in clinical psychology at Eastern Kentucky University in 2010.
