Louise Gibson 100th birthday
Louise Gibson celebrated her 100th birthday with a reception in her honor on July 31, 2010, at Calvary Baptist Church.The event was hosted by her daughter, Mrs. Howard Pryor and son, Mr. Jim Gibson.Mrs. Gibson was born July 29, 1910, in Castlewood, Va. She was married to James H. Gibson for 65 years.She is the mother of Jim Gibson of Lincolnton, N.C.; Barbara Pryor of Monroe, Ga.; and the late Dan Gibson. She is the grandmother of David Gibson, Dayne Pryor and Laurel Renegar. She is the great-grandmother of Lindsay and Casey Renegar, and Jackson and Adeline Pryor.Mrs. Gibson was employed at Holston Valley Hospital, Tennessee Eastman Co. and Hillside Manor nursing home. She is a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Collins 60th wedding anniversary
Howard and Imogene Collins celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a gathering of family and friends on July 18, 2010, at the home of Jewel Richardson of Gray.Mr. and Mrs. Collins were married on July 21, 1950 in Kingsport. Mr. Collins is a retired millwright and avid coon hunter. Mrs. Collins worked in various businesses in Kingsport but dedicated most of her time to her children and church. They are both faithful members of West View Baptist Church. They are the parents of Gail (Bryan) Hulse of Kingsport, Larry (Sharon) Collins of Jonesborough and the late Michael Collins and Ricky Collins. They have two special daughters-in law, Paula Collins and Donna Collins. They have many special grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leeson and Olney wedding
Stacey Cassandra Olney and Mark Andrew Leeson of San Diego, Calif., celebrated their marriage with a ceremony and reception in Makena, Maui, Hawaii, on July 12, 2010. The Rev. Dr. Alan Leeson was the officiant. They had previously had a civil ceremony in San Diego on Jan. 22, 2010. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Laverne (Judy) Olney of Kingsport. The bridegroom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Alan (Elizabeth) Leeson of Blackpool, England.The wedding was held on the Hanua Kai Lani Estate in Makena, overlooking the ocean with an outdoor reception following at the same site.Angela Parsons, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. John Marshall, friend of the bridegroom, was best man.The bride graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1992, and from Emory University in 1996. She completed a master's degree in nutrition in 2002 at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and received a medical doctorate from Albany Medical College in 2006. She is serving as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy as an obstetrician/gynecologist.The bridegroom graduated from the Ecclesbourne School in Duffield, England, in 1991, the Blackpool Sixth Form College in Blackpool, England, in 1993, and Durham University in Durham. England, in 1996. He is a management consultant employed by HCL Axon.The couple will reside in Guam for the next two years.

Meaghan Elyce Guest of Kingsport, Tenn., and Andrew Taylor Wolfe of Kingsport, plan to be married in August 2010 at The Cloister in Sea Island, Ga.The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. Charles and Carol Guest of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Charlene Rowland of Kingsport, the late Douglas Rowland, and the late MaLee and Charles Dana Guest Jr., formerly of Pine Bluff, Ark. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School, Furman University and the Medical University of South Carolina with a doctorate in dental medicine. She practices dentistry at Drs. Guest, Guest, and Guest Dental office, Chestnut Grove Office Park.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Thomas and Berniece Wolfe of Kingsport, and the grandson of Ethel Hale of Kingsport, the late Noel Hale, and the late Otho and Grace Wolfe, formerly of Kingsport. He graduated from Sullivan North High School and Northeast State. He is employed by U.S. Lumber Company.
