Murr and Simmons marriage announcement
Rebecca Simmons of Jasper, Tenn., and Jason Murr of Kingsport, were married Oct. 16, 2010, at Second Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga, Tenn. Dr. Perry C. McCallen officiated at the 5 p.m. ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Jack and Larinda Simmons of Jasper, and the granddaughter of Roger and Patricia Goetz of Carthage, Ill., and the late Sam and Reba Simmons formerly of Jasper. The bridegroom is the son of Roger and Mary Ann Reed of Kingsport, and the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Henry S. Burem, and Mr. and Mrs. William Murr of Kingsport. The bride was given in marriage by her father and escorted to the altar by her parents.Maids of honor were Nicole Campbell and Brittany Greene. Bridesmaids were Lori Rawlins and Shelly Kirk, sisters of the bride; and Mandy Simmons, sister-in-law of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Alexis Kirk and Ashley Greene. Flower girls were Ashlyn Mills and Jade Simmons. Brandon Huddleston served as best man. Groomsmen were Josh Bishop, Sterling Gros, Matt Anthony, Kirt Long and Jimmy Johnson. Ushers were Cory Kirk and Joey Simmons. Ring bearers were Pearson Mills, Aidan Rawlins, Austin Rawlins and Jackson Simmons.The bride graduated from Marion County High School and Miller-Motte Technical College. She is employed at Grandview Medical Center as a certified surgical technologist. The bridegroom graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He is employed as a supervisor at United Parcel Service.Following a wedding cruise to the Caribbean, the couple resides in Chattanooga.
Copas 50th wedding anniversary
Bobby "Bob" and Shirley Copas of Kingsport will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on April 1, 2011. In celebration of their anniversary, their children will host a reception from 2 to 4 p.m., April 2, 2011, at Sullivan North High School.Bob and Shirley both attended Lynn View High School where they met and graduated in 1960. They were married on April 1, 1961, at the home of Minister Basil Freeman in Kingsport and made the Lynn Garden community their home.They are the parents of Mike Copas and wife Tyra of Kingsport, and Robby Copas and wife Sabrina of Kodak, Tenn. They are the grandparents of Tyler, Nick, Connor, Luke, Annetta and Olivia. Bob Copas retired from Eastman Kodak Co. in 1994.The presence of family and friends is the only gift requested.
Bacon and Matthews wedding annoucement
Michelle Lynn Bacon of Kingsport, Tenn., and Joseph Charles Matthews of Columbus, Ohio, will be married on June 25, 2011 in Asheville, N.C.The bride-to-be is the daughter of Mike and Linda Bacon of Kingsport. Michelle graduated from Sullivan South High School and the University of Tennessee with a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. She recently graduated from East Tennessee State University where she earned a doctorate of physical therapy degree. Michelle is in practice as a physical therapist for the Ohio State University Sports Medicine Department. The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Janet Matthews and Charles Matthews of Columbus, Ohio. Joe graduated from Hilliard High School and received a master's of physical therapy degree from Ohio State University. He is employed by Monterey Care Center where he practices as a physical therapist. Joe lives in Columbus and enjoys ballroom dancing.
Smith and Austin marriage announcement
Alison Paige Austin and Jonathan Lee Smith were united in marriage June 12, 2010, at First Baptist Church, Blountville. The bride's father and the Rev. Ed Talley officiated at the ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Clay and Anita Austin of Blountville. The bridegroom is the son of John and Sheila Smith of Kingsport.The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the bridegroom at Giuseppe's with many friends and family in attendance.Given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a white taffeta pick-up gown with beaded metallic lace bodice, inverted v-empire and a lace-up back with a sweep train.Amber Wagner, sister of the bride, of Jonesborough, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Megan Jones of Decatur, Ala.; Ashley Morelock of Bristol, and Melanie Smith of Kingsport. Miss Camy Richards of Bristol was flower girl.John Smith served his son as best man. Groomsmen were Drew Kimsey of Vonore, Tenn.; Justin Meade of Kingsport, and Derek Sherfey of Kingsport. Noah Meade of Kingsport was ring bearer.Guest book attendants were Mrs. Julie Loudermilk and Ms. Stacy Wingate. Music was provided by Jan Seabolt, Rick Osborne, Angela Dolinger and Ellen Osborne.
Grim and Musick wedding announcement
Lauren Michelle Grim of Kingsport, and Philip Blake Musick of Lebanon, Va., plan to be married Aug. 20, 2011, at First Broad Street United Methodist Church, Kingsport.The bride-elect is the daughter of Herby and Michelle Pierce of Kingsport, and Mike and Belinda Grim of Church Hill. She is the granddaughter of Jim and Rosemary Pleasant of Kingsport, Lloyd Grim of Church Hill, and the late Ernestine Grim. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2005, and will graduate as a doctor of pharmacy from East Tennessee State University Gatton College of Pharmacy in May 2011.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Philip and Sharon Musick of Lebanon, and the grandson of H.G. and Pauline Musick of Honaker, Va., Hattie Miller of Honaker and the late Bobby Miller. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 2005 and from Southwest Virginia Community College in 2007. He will graduate as a doctor of pharmacy from ETSU Gatton College of Pharmacy in May 2011.Lauren and Blake are both members of Bible Baptist Church, Kingsport.
