It was a wonderful opportunity for the couple to be nostalgic. The bride wore a long, flowing off-white gown and a wide-brimmed hat that belonged to her husband's maternal grandmother, Augusta, who died in 1929. She crocheted her red, white and blue apron for the event. The bridegroom matched in tuxedo style with bowtie and hat. The family joined in the celebration wearing bonnets and hats and dress attire fitting the occasion. That theme carried through to a sit-down dinner for the couple and special friends, Thelma and Bernie Benkey. Myla and Mattea served them.Cameras and video rolled capturing the cutting of their anniversary cake and warm wishes to the happy couple. They spoke of the memories and how the Lord had blessed them even through hardships. The entire event was one of reflection and thankfulness of God and for their families and many friends. They are especially thankful for and blessed with four children, four grandchildren and one great-grandson. They are the parents of Linda and Charles Rothwell, Carolyn Sakowicz, Norma Cato, and Bobby and Nancy Anderson.
